A free program for Android, by HabitatMap.
AirCasting is a data visualization platform for air quality. Using a combination of online mapping and an Android app, it allows users to visualize air quality in their area.
It uses data from a variety of sources, including the AirBeam, an air quality monitor that is part of HabitatMap, a nonprofit building open-source, free, and low-cost environmental monitoring and data visualization solutions. The AirBeam measures particulate matter, a key component of air pollution, and when used in conjunction with the Android app, it can also measure the temperature and humidity of the environment.
The data is presented in a way that makes it easy to understand, and the platform also allows users to search for their own locations and see the data for that location.
The platform is used by a number of organizations, including the Center for Environmental Health, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the World Health Organization.
